MASTER PLANS
Union County’s first formal Trail & Greenway Master Plan was created in 2014. It included recommendations on how community stakeholders could expand a network of trails and greenways across the county. The intent of the master plan was to identify a variety of opportunities for new outdoor amenities while showcasing Union County’s abundant natural assets.
In 2017, the Union County Health Department retained the services of a consultant, and later the National Park Service - Rivers, Trails & Conservation Assistance (NPS-RTCA) Program, to update the master plan and to organize community efforts with the goal of launching a formal working group. This action resulted in an update of the Trail & Greenway Master Plan, which was formally completed in 2022.
